I always liked the Mayan and Aztec cultures and am very interested on the carvings in the lid of the tomb of the Mayan king K’inich Janaab Pakal I in the Temple of the Inscriptions in the Mayan city of Palenque, so I decided to represent it in what is my first “big” (55in X 35in) oil painting.
